Roby took a course in barbecue cooking with celebrity pitmaster Harry Soo. She became a certified barbecue pitmaster, and soon began working at a barbecue restaurant.


Her love of barbecue began as a hobby. But, she soon became obsessed with barbecue. At first, she made barbecue dishes from her back porch. Later, she competed in barbecue contests across the nation, cooking alongside world-famous pitmasters. Since then she has started a series pop-ups throughout Dayton, Ohio. She plans to open a food truck.

Food Network BBQ Team Brawl 3 will feature two of the finest chefs from around the globe competing for the ultimate title in grilling. Anne Burrell, Jet Tila and Bobby Flay will face off in a dinner party brawl sure to be memorable. Matt Roth (BBQ Brawl's favorite) returns as the Austin-based Smokin Beauty owner with Thao.

Ann gave instructions to the contestants in the first episode Food Network BBQ Team Brawl. Jet and Team Bobby let them decide what they would make. The new season of BBQ Team Brawl will feature some familiar faces, as with all Food Network competitions. Lee Ann Whippen is the Team Anne judge. She has been competing in barbecuing for 23 year. She is also the managing director of Deviled Pig in Tampa, and a judge at the Kansas City Barbecue Society. She has won multiple state and world barbecue championships and has starred on TV shows like BBQ Pitmasters and Throwdown with Bobby Flay.


Flay and Symon were also in a battle for the best barbecue sandwich. This time, Lee Ann took a more traditional approach to the sandwich, while Susie went for an exotic twist. Her pork belly banh mi pushed the boundaries of flavors while the judges thought it was too thick. The Team Anne burger was delicious, juicy, and well-baked.
