Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. But how do they turn out so perfectly? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. So today, I want to share some tips and tricks with you so you can make your own delicious and fluffy omelets every morning.

When making omelets, it is important to be aware that eggs can be temperamental. You must get them fresh, organically, and keep them cold until you cook. If you don't keep them cold enough, the whites won't form properly, and the yolks will break down too much and become runny. This will make your omelets appear strangely colored. If you're going to cook them immediately, it is best if the eggs are still warm.

You might also try separating the egg before adding to the pan. The yolk and white should not be mixed together as this can cause the omelet's curdle.

The egg can burn if it is placed directly on the stovetop. Instead, put the egg in the microwave for 10 seconds before putting it into the pan. The microwave heat will cook the egg just right without making it too hot.

Next, let's talk about mixing the eggs. Mix eggs well together. Turn the bowl upside down and grab the whisk to do this. Then shake the bowl vigorously. This allows the air to be whipped and the egg to be mixed thoroughly.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. Mix half of the milk with the eggs. Then fold the eggs in half into the remaining milk. Don't worry if there are still streaks of egg visible; these streaks will disappear once you flip the omelet.

After you have folded the eggs, heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil has started to sizzle, turn the heat down to low. Add 1/4 cup butter to the oil and swirl it around to coat all sides of the pan. Next, carefully open the lid and sprinkle salt into your pan. Salt will prevent the omelet sticking to the pan.

Once the omelet forms, cover the pan again. Let the top side set completely. Flip the omelet with a spatula, or flip it upside down. Cook the other side for about a minute. Take the omelet out of the pan and immediately serve.

This recipe is best made with whole milk. However, it can also be used with skimmed milk.
