How To

How to make a perfect eggroll

Omelets are my favorite breakfast dish. How can you make them perfectly? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. So I am sharing some tips and tricks today to help you make fluffy, delicious omelets every morning.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. Eggs must be purchased fresh, preferably organic, and kept chilled until ready for cooking. The yolks and whites will not form properly if they aren't kept cold enough. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you want to make omelets right away, it's best not to use eggs that are too cold.

Another tip is to separate the egg before adding it to the pan. You don't want the white to get mixed with the yolk, as this could cause the egg to curdle.

The bottom part of an egg that is added directly to the stovetop might be burned, which could cause a ruined texture in your omelet. Instead, microwave the egg for 10 seconds before adding it to the pan. The heat from the microwave cooks the egg just enough without overcooking it.

Next, let's discuss mixing the eggs. Mix eggs well together. To do this, take the bowl from the mixer and flip it upside-down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. This way, the air inside the bowl gets whipped around and mixes the egg thoroughly.

Now comes the fun part - pouring the milk into the mixture. Pour half the milk into the beaten egg mixture and then fold in the eggs. Do not be alarmed if there are still egg streaks visible. Once the omelet flips, these streaks will disappear.

After you have done folding the eggs, heat the pan on medium heat. The oil will start to smoke. Once the oil has gotten hot, add 1/4 cup of butter and swirl it around so that the entire pan is coated. The lid should be carefully opened. Sprinkle salt in the pan. A pinch of salt will help prevent the omelet from sticking to the pan.

Once the omelet forms, cover the pan again. Let the top side set completely. Flip the omelet with a spatula, or flip it upside down. Cook the other side for about a minute. Serve immediately after removing the omelet from its pan.

This recipe works best with whole milk, but skimmed milk also works.
